If you are looking for an electrician in, or around Berkhamsted in Hertfordshire, then you may have come to the right place.
I specialise is doing those little jobs that no-one else is interested in doing, from routine maintenance to sorting out those minor wiring difficulties.
In 1972, I started out on my own and am still providing a service to the local community.
I was a qualifying manager under the N.I.C.E.I.C. scheme, but due to circumstances beyond my control, resigned and have not bothered to rejoin as the cost involved makes it uneconomic at the present time (and the past 27 years!). Until I can see some benefit to the customer in the guise of compulsory standards, I will just have to continue doing my best.
Just in case you are wondering, having served my apprenticeship with the local Electricity Supply company, I was involved in general servicing of appliances and electrical installations. After a couple of years I became part of the emergency team which was on call to provide front line service all over the area on a 7 day week basis.
Among the things I was involved with was ensuring the petrol tankers could get loaded overnight at the local oil depot - well before the recent minor difficulties - (they had to fly someone up from Southampton to sort it out once daylight broke) and I was the idiot who had to disconnect of the supply when the scout hut in Bennetts End burnt down some years ago and the poor old firemen were being provided with electric shocks as they fought the blaze. Oh yes, I also brought to the attention of the local press the faulty sockets being installed on Woodhall Farm estate in the 1970s’.
I have a new assistant aka ‘the little rat’!
